Rule #4! Don’t abuse credit, but don’t fear it either! I don’t have any extra money on the budget we have, so I was so excited to discover a new credit card at my bank. I’m hesitant to share this for fear the bank will stop the program.My bank has a Cash Reward card with the deal that if I:
a. use my card at least once per month, and
b. pay more than the monthly minimum (or the total) each month they will pay me $25.00 cash reward for each 3-month quarter.
And, because I have my checking account there also, they pay an extra $5.00 per quarter. I get to have a small personal treat that I enjoy for $3.98 each month (I can get books at a used book site for$0.99 book less $1.00 coupon plus $3.99 shipping and handling).Then they pay me $10.00 for that month.Essentially, I’m being paid $6.02 per month to have a credit card. I love being paid to buy myself a gift!
